Pathways to Emergency and Academy Career Experiences (PEACE) Program

The City of Minneapolis’ PEACE program gives Minneapolis students the opportunity to explore careers in Fire, Police, Emergency Services, and Legal services. During the fall and winter, students will be asked to participate in monthly SWAG meetings (Students With Ambitions and Goals) where they will be given the chance to connect with students across Minneapolis who have similar interest. Each meeting will focus on topics such as team building, resume building, networking, self care, and career exploration. In the spring, students will have the opportunity to connect with a mentor from the Justice or Emergency field through mentor events that will occur once a month after school on a Thursday. This means that in addition to attending SWAG meeting students will be attending mentor events. Students will also work with a Check and Connect Monitor who will help ensure success during the program and make sure they are on track for graduation.
